Peonies

Édouard Manet went on record designating peonies as his favorite flowers. He grew them in the country and painted them in Paris.

After encountering Manet's peony-painting of the 1860s in the digital vaults of the Metropolitan Museum, I began to be curious about other representations from that vast collection. Below are some few of them.
