Middle & End of Nap Time

Life has been a big rush this week. Consequently, the numerous pictures of my granddaughter taken on Wednesday afternoon have been appearing here at irregular intervals in somewhat shapeless clumps. My usual method would involve sorting them more or less as if they represented a traditional narrative with beginning, middle and end. This time, no. This time they fall into almost random combinations, earlier and later jumbled together  – a presentation that perhaps corresponds more nearly to a toddler's actual sense of time. Mabel Watson Payne does not experience the world as a linear sequence of events (in the way adults have learned to do) but more like a spiraling system of rotating planets.
