Fugitive Smile

As soon as I showed up on Friday afternoon, Mabel Watson Payne insisted that she wanted to do Play-Doh. Consequently, we concentrated on that single activity (jellyfish and worms, pancakes and sandwiches) for more than an hour and then segued smoothly into reading some of the newly borrowed library books, with a little snack along the way. By the time I took any pictures, the dark cloudy day was already dimming into evening. And one thing I cannot make this D-SLR do, apparently, is capture motion with low light. A flash would be too intrusive. Plus, the whole idea of a flash runs counter to what I nobly like to think of as my aesthetic.

Anyway, it hardly matters. She is sublime, however manifested.
