Garden Path

1/100 second, f/11, ISO 200

When I was done with my library work this afternoon I went back to the obscure little spot in Golden Gate Park where I took many pictures of plant life yesterday under overcast skies. Today it looked all different under bright sun. This grassy path between overgrown hedges of privet had defeated all my earlier efforts, refusing to yield even one presentable picture, so I thought it would be clever to try it in black and white, exploiting today's stronger shadows. But I was wrong. As anybody can see above, my best efforts in black and white on this subject resulted in a kind of gray mush. But the color version below did seem to offer a certain grudging redemption.
