Elderly Minimalist

Imi Knoebel, born in 1940, continues our series of German minimalists. He and his friend Blinky Palermo shared a studio when they were both students of legendary postmodern pioneer Joseph Beuys at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf.

Now that I have gathered up samplings from both Imi Knoebel and Blinky Palermo it pleases me to ponder their back-and-forth influence on one another.

(The painting immediately above seems to link up all unintended to yesterday's Pantone images. Imi Knoebel painted it in 1994 and called it Grace Kelly III.)
