Aspects of the Day

Mabel Watson Payne, still wearing her pajamas, dug my wallet out of my backpack and then joyfully emptied it. She tried to tear up the money, but it proved to be too tough for her strength.

For our outing at mid-day we walked to the Asian Art Museum in Civic Center. It was a hot day and we wanted to go someplace air-conditioned, rather than the park. My granddaughter comes here often with her daddy, who is a museum member. So she had favorite things to show me.

Back at home, this child so desperately wanted to play with my cell phone that I locked the keypad and gave it to her. She handled it with a seeming bliss of comprehension.

Today was a sponge-bath day, on a thick green towel.
