Museum & Rain

Every other Friday the cleaning lady takes over for the whole afternoon at Spencer Alley so an activity needs to be planned to keep one out in the world until she is finished. After a week of cold and rain it is colder and rainier and darker than ever today and I came up with the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art as a good indoor destination.

It turned out not to be the best day to be there, as two entire floors were closed for the installation of new shows, which meant that all the visitors were crowded into the remaining two floors where I had on past occasions already seen everything currently showing.

However, I had never before tried to photograph the rooftop sculpture garden in the rain. This proved to be a fun and challenging enterprise. It seemed like the works of art were pleased for the chance to show their special strengths under dripping conditions.
